Description
The tour starts in the centre of the village of Alfriston on The Tye (village green) in front of the church and then follows the Cuckmere River as it meanders through the valley to the hamlet of Littlington and then over the bridge and back along the opposite bank to Alfriston and a tour of the mediaeval village to hear about smuggling, beer brewing and wool production.
Following the guided walk you will be transported to a traditional Sussex pub for a local produce lunch and then on to an award-winning vineyard for an explanation of the wine production methods and the all important tasting of the locally produced wine. You will have the chance to ask lots of questions of the winemaker and to purchase a bottle should you wish to do so. At the end of the day you will be transported back to your starting point.
