Herstmonceux Walk And Wine Tour

We will bypass the walk and head straight for the English vineyards with this fizz filled day. We will create an itinerary which includes two vineyards and a pub lunch in-between. This is a great winter option as avoids too much time in the unpredictable weather! You can focus on trying out some of the best wines Kent and Sussex has to offer and tick off more of our great local vineyards.

This walk begins at Alfriston village green (The Tye) where we set off on a 2 hour walk. The walk climbs onto the South Downs, offering sweeping views over the Downs as we pass the South East smallest church and The Long Man of Wilmingdon. After the walk, enjoy refreshments before being taken to a traditional Sussex pub for a lunch featuring local produce. The afternoon continues with a visit to an award-winning vineyard for a guided “vine to wine” tour, including a tasting of up to four wines and the opportunity to ask questions and purchase bottles. Transport back to the starting point is included. Sturdy footwear and suitable outdoor clothing are recommended.

The walk climbs onto the South Downs, offering sweeping views over the Rathfinny Vineyard and across to the English Channel. You’ll follow the vineyard’s contours before returning to Alfriston along the peaceful banks of the Cuckmere River. After the walk, enjoy refreshments before being taken to a traditional Sussex pub for a lunch featuring local produce.
